A poem (mostly in jest) which I recite to my students when they ask me assignment-related questions before turning to their neighbor for help (during group work)

Ask one but you're not done. Ask two but you're not through. Ask three before you ask me. Ask four before you bore. Ask five before you arrive. Ask six to see if it clicks. Ask seven then ask Kevin. Ask eight or I'm irate. Ask nine before you whine. Ask ten and do it again.
